Data storage and magnetic media is highly
sensitive and susceptible to low levels of heat or humidity. These
include diskettes, data cartridges, DVDs, CDs, hard drives, USB drives,
Dell Ultrium 3 and 4 tapes, memory cards and memory sticks. Manufacturers recommend that the maximum
temperature of exposure to these media devices must not exceed 52°C or
humidity levels of 85% or greater.
All our safes have been
tested extensively in the UK and Sweden. The Swedish test NT FIRE
017-120 requires a testing temperature of 1050°C and this has to be
maintained for over 2 hours. During this gruelling test the Datacare
2003 restricted the temperature to a maximum of 39°C, passing the Data
